Why Do We Feel Happiness?

Although many for us strive for happiness in our daily lives to think of it as only a goal is I feel missing the true power of this very important emotion.

In order to understand what I mean by this let me suggest a short exercise. For a moment think of a place that you would like to visit that you have never experienced before. Now imagine yourself in this place. As you do this notice how you begin to feel inside.

If this is truly a desirable destination for you then you are most likely feeling more happy as you see yourself there. Although one may take the feelings of happiness that emerge as one does such an exercise for granted they do in fact have a purpose in being there. Can you think of what that purpose might be?

Well after some reflection I think you will appreciate that the feelings of happiness, that you experienced as a result of this exercise, were trying to “communicate” to you that this was “good for you” or “right for you”. In other words there is an intelligence inside you that is commenting, at every moment, about the choices you are making for yourself.

Now most of us are in the habit of consulting our minds about the usefulness of our choices. In other words we expend a great deal of energy trying to “figure out” what is good for us and what is not. Often such an analysis excludes a consideration of feelings of happiness altogether as such feelings are ironically considered unreliable and therefore not to be trusted.

Such an intellectual exercise not only takes effort but one is also often left with a lingering sense of uncertainty about the final choice. The feeling of happiness on the other hand emerges clearly and spontaneously without one having to do any work other than just imagining what one wants for one’s self.

You might have also noticed that the feeling itself was most intensely felt somewhere other than in the mind or brain. Most feel it most powerfully in the region of the heart.

So what I am suggesting here is that we have an inner intelligence that we can listen to to guide us on our journey to a more happy life. That inner intelligence communicates to you in the language of happy feelings.

Caverta is the new generation Viagra. It is generic form of Viagra used to treat Erectile Dysfunction in men. Caverta is Ranbaxy’s brand of Sildenafil Citrate. 11 Things Small Business Owners Can Learn From Michael Dell

1. Think Big - In college, Michael Dell said he wanted to “beat IBM.” While you may not desire to take your small business to such heights, be sure not to limit what you might achieve.

2. Draw Your Own Map - Michael Dell, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson…each took a different approach to doing better what someone else was doing. Blaze your own trail to success.

3. Learn From Mistakes - Every company makes big ones - including Dell - and the best use mistakes as opportunities to grow and improve their people, products and services.

4. Simplify - Great leaders have a great ability to break big things into small parts. Share your vision and the steps for getting there with your small business team…in language they understand.

5. Read - Michael Dell said, “Just work to understand the world around you. Read books. Read websites. Read other people…then build a vision of how it could all be better…”

6. Open New Doors - Dell continues to innovate…offering cameras, printers, MP3 players, TVs and other electronics. Look for ways to increase what you provide current and future customers.

7. Cultivate Relationships - “There’s no such thing as a self-made success,” Michael Dell said. The best opportunity you have to grow your small business is by widening your network.

8. Seek Harmony - Michael Dell is married with four children, and, when asked about his legacy, said, “That this is a guy who was a great dad and a great husband.”

9. Strategize - With 40,000 employees, Michael Dell admits his ability to impact any other area besides strategy is relatively small. Take time to think about the direction of your small business, because no one knows how to get there better than you.

10. It’s All About Winning - Not about victory over opponents, Michael Dell said; it’s about winning the “contest with your own potential” to achieve all you can in life.

11. Don’t Be The Smartest Person In The Room - “And if you are, I suggest you invite smarter people…or find a different room,” said Michael Dell. Surround yourself with talented people.

Easy Weight Loss

A really easy, fast way to weight loss is walking a lot. If the other things you’ve tried haven’t worked, or if the results aren’t quite what you’re looking for, try walking twice a day, every day.

This is the time of year when walking outdoors is easier. It’s usually cooler, and less humid, but not so cold as winter.

Aim for walking 2 miles a day. One mile in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

Most people are notoriously bad about mental distance measurements, so I suggest using your car to stake out a full mile.

As an alternative, use the rough rule that most healthy adults walking a fairly brisk pace will walk at 3-4 miles per hour. So if you do a fast 20 minute walk, you’ve probably got your time in.

20 minutes is also good because most people can get their walking in during a break at work in the morning. Even better, probably, would be walking in the early morning before the day gets going (you’re more likely to get it done) but some folks have trouble fitting that in.

Either way, get a mile in during the morning. Then aim for another mile in the afternoon or evening. When walking, breathe deeply and steadily. The results will surprise you.

Ears Stand Corrected: Cosmetic Surgery and Pets

Are you irritated by your dog’s drooping ears or your kitty’s tail which is capable of sweaping off a coffee table in a mere second? Is your puppy being too loud and your Calico scratching a bit too much? In our society,
there are so many cosmetic procedures that have the capability of transforming our pets into the best citizens of their kind, into members of other breeds or into denizens of imaginary breeds.

Some could even say that these cosmetic surgeries enhance the overall quality of a pet’s life while others could possibly state that these procedures are mean-spirited, ego driven and more for the benefit of the pet owners than for the pets well being.

Cosmetic surgery for pets is not at all a recent idea. In the late 1800’s and the early twentieth century cosmetic surgery or alteration was a normal practice, most especially in the cat show world.

Such techniques as tail bobbing and ear reducing to produce the deceptive image of another breed were practices used regularly.

And there are other cosmetic procedures for pets that sound like procedures for people. We are not the only creatures who can get a tummy tuck. This is done especially for health purposes, as some animal breeds are indeed more vulnerable
to infection and so forth. Your pet could even have liposuction done. And that is not nearly the end of it. There is
also the changing of eyelids to alter eye shape and face lifts which alter the pet’s face. And for show pets there are prosthetic testicles for dogs as well as laser depilation for the looks of “hairless” cats.

Holistic Vet Dr. Jane Bicks has performed her share of these surgeries. At one time she gave a face lift to a dog who had facial folds so pronounced his eyes were part covered over! She had to rid the dog’s face of its unpleasing
folds and in the end the eyes looked around two times as big as before the procedure.

She also did a nose job on her horse, a horse whom that she had rescued and who had a mangled nose. She replaced the nose and stitched it back on while not changing the natural style.

Some animal advocates say there is a morality issue doing this to pets who did not request it done and who did not concur with it(or the actual pain that goes along with it) just to look a certain way.
It is really somewhat surprising all the other cosmetic surgery procedures that are done on a regular. For additional information about Pet issues and nutrition visit The Pet Food Zone and find out more.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is another common type of cancer. As the name suggests, skin cancer is a cancerous condition of skin.

Types of skin cancer

There are three types of skin cancers: basal cell skin cancer, squamous cell skin cancer and the dangerous malignant melanoma. Since skin cancer is very closely associated to skin pigmentation, the fair skinned people are more at risk of developing skin cancer as compared to the dark skinned ones.

The cause of skin cancer

Prolonged contact with direct sunlight is what causes skin cancer. The main culprit in the direct rays of sunlight is the UV radiation (i.e. Ultra violet rays). Thus most of the preventive action against skin cancer is concentrated on avoidance of UV rays.

Protection against skin cancer

Protection against skin cancer is probably easier than the protection against other types of skin cancer. Still, a number of people ignore it and become target of this dreaded disease. Here is a list of things that can protect you from skin cancer:

1. Clothing: Since skin cancer is caused by prolonged contact of UV rays with your skin, the more you cover your skin with clothing, the lesser is your risk of developing skin cancer. Full sleeved clothes, long skirts and trousers, big hats/caps, high necks etc are all helpful in preventing skin cancer.

2. Sun screen lotion: There are a number of skin care products available in markets that offer effective protection against skin cancer. Sun screen lotions and creams that have a SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 or more are much recommended for use.

3. Avoid exposure to UV rays: This is the best protection against skin cancer. If you can time your outdoor activity during those periods when the UV rays are less intense, you are automatically protected against UV rays. Thus getting out either early in the mornings of later in the evenings is the best.

4. Diet: Carotenoid fruits and vegetables are also known to help prevent skin cancer.

Detection of skin cancer

The various techniques for protection against skin cancer can only reduce your risk of contacting skin cancer. If you are really unlucky (or if you have not taken the protective measures against skin cancer), you might still get affected by skin cancer. In such a case, early detection can make the difference between curability and non-curability. Timely consultation with a qualified doctor, regular check-ups and accurate diagnosis can prevent skin cancer from becoming really dangerous for you.

Warren and Karen have been involved in the internet for a number of years and run several websites. They are most interested in providing opportunities for people to connect with information relating to business, health and creativity. Check out their Skin Cancer blog for more information.
